This is the latest edition to the Jeff Duff armory. The Swingin' Lovers is a
twelve piece big band playing Sinatra's swing repertoire... but with a lot more
attitude than what you'd expect. It's big, brash and brassy featuring nine horns
with Ralph Pyl and Danny May leading the way
on their screaming trumpets. It's Sinatra with a bit of stick. Great arrangements, great
songs, a great band, led by a great vocalist in Jeff Duff. Apart from Ol Blue
Eyes' big hits - 'New York', 'My Way', 'Fly Me to the Moon', 'Come Fly with
Me', 'Chicago', 'The Lady is a Tramp', 'That's Life' etc, you can expect to
hear songs from Jeff's new show - GROUND CONTROL TO FRANK
SINATRA... where Sinatra collides with David Bowie. Imagine Sinatra crooning
Bowie's space age rock anthems like 'Space Oddity' , 'Starman', 'Sorrow', 'Ch,
Ch, Changes' with a swing groove. It works brilliantly and Duffo has created
a unique vehicle to pay respect to his two favourite musicians in one exciting
show.
Jeff & the Swingin Lovers also perform the powerhouse TOM JONES repertoire
... played with the raunch that was intended when Tom first recorded his hits
- 'It's Not Unusual', 'Thunderball', 'Delilah' etc.
DUFFO's SINATRA SHOW ...is also presented in a more compact mode with a five
piece combo featuring key musicians from the Jeff's Swingin Lovers big band
including Danny May on trumpet and Aaron Michael
on saxs. This ensemble play the same repertoire of 'Ol' Blue Eyes' greatest
hits that Jeffs big band perform.
